If you are buying for a group at the stadium, consider splitting into smaller transactions to stay close to Rs. 400 per transaction rather than running one large bill, since the cap is per transaction.
How to activate the offer
Around You offers work differently from standard bank cashbacks — they require an explicit activation step inside the app before each purchase. Miss this step and you pay full price.

Open the OneCard app at the stadium
You need to be at or near the venue for the offer to appear. Location must be enabled on your phone.

Tap 'Around You' on the home screen
The Around You section shows live offers based on your current location. The IPL stadium offer will appear here when you are at an active venue.

Tap the stadium offer to activate it
Select the offer and activate it. You will see a confirmation that it is active. Do this before you walk to any food or merchandise stall.

Pay with your OneCard
Tap or swipe your OneCard at the stall. The 50% discount (up to Rs. 200) is applied automatically. Minimum spend is Rs. 299 for the offer to trigger.

The stadiums shown in the Around You section are the confirmed active venues on any given match day. If a venue is live, the offer card appears automatically when you are nearby. No manual search needed.
The once-per-month limit
The offer can be used once per calendar month per card. If you are lucky enough to attend multiple IPL matches in the same month — say an MI home game at Wankhede and a KKR game at Eden Gardens — you can only activate the discount at one of them.
The sensible approach: save the activation for whichever match you expect to spend more at. A final or playoff game is likely to have longer queues and bigger group spending than a mid-season league game.
Does it stack with reward points?
Potentially yes. Stadium food and beverage stalls often get categorised as Dining in OneCard transactions, which is one of the 5X-eligible categories. If you have already unlocked the monthly 5X threshold (spending Rs. 750 or more in at least 3 categories), you may earn 5X points on the post-discount amount charged to your card.
Reward points are calculated on the net amount billed to your card after the Around You discount. So on a Rs. 400 transaction where you pay Rs. 200 after the offer, points would be earned on Rs. 200. At 5X on Dining, that is 20 points (worth Rs. 2). Small but it stacks.
Check your transaction category
Not all stadium stalls are categorised as Dining. Some may come through as Shopping or a general merchant code. Check the category shown in your OneCard transaction history after purchase to see what points rate applied. The 5X rewards guide explains how category unlock works.

How do I activate the OneCard IPL offer?
Open the OneCard app while at the stadium, go to the Around You section, tap the stadium offer to activate, then pay with your OneCard. You must activate before making the payment.
What is the best amount to spend to get maximum value?
Rs. 400. At that amount, 50% equals exactly Rs. 200, which is the maximum discount. Spending more does not increase the discount beyond Rs. 200.
Can I use the offer at every IPL match I attend?
No. Once per calendar month per card. If you attend multiple matches in the same month, save the activation for the game where you plan to spend more.
Does the offer work on merchandise as well as food?
Yes. The offer applies to any Around You-listed merchant at the stadium, which includes food stalls, beverage counters, and merchandise shops. The merchant must appear as an active offer in your Around You feed.

What if the offer does not appear in Around You at the stadium?
Make sure location access is enabled for the OneCard app. The offer appears based on GPS proximity to the venue. If it still does not show, check that your app is updated to the latest version and try restarting the app. Contact OneCard in-app chat if the issue persists.
